About Gail Luhn...
Gail is a personal human resources attorney based in Fremont, Washington. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of employment and maritime law. She represents maritime and non-maritime employers and employees in federal and state courts and in numerous administrative agencies in connection with claims of harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, accommodation, retaliation, workplace violence, and wage and hour violations. She is also experienced in the defense of maritime personal injury claims and asbestos-related claims. She consults with employers to provide preventative human resource services, including development and implementation of anti-harassment strategies, employment policies, non-compete agreements, and employment contracts. She regularly guides and advises employers faced with complaints of harassment and discrimination, termination and disciplinary decisions.
The sole member of Luhn Law, PLLC, Gail is continuing to develop her practice in employment, labor, maritime and business law with additional focus on employee representation and meeting the developing needs of small businesses. Gail is also available to conduct independent investigations into employee harassment reports.
A native of Washington State, Gail worked for the American Red Cross following her graduation from The Evergreen State College in 1982. In 1986, she accepted a position with the American National Red Cross in Burlingame, California. While there, she began graduate study in Human Resources and Organizational Development at the University of San Francisco. Her interest in employer-employee relations inevitably led to her decision to attend law school, and she graduated with a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1993.
Gail returned to Washington in 1997 and joined LeGros, Buchanan & Paul where she expanded her practice to include maritime employment, maritime personal injury defense and asbestos/toxic tort litigation. Expanding her maritime knowledge, Gail spent most of 2004 helping to refit a 75’ steel-hull yacht, M/V INFINITY, which is now her home.
Gail is admitted to practice in Washington (1997), Kentucky (1993), and Colorado (2004; inactive), the U.S. Supreme Court, the Sixth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Washington and the Eastern District of Kentucky. Gail is also a certified mediator for the U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington, with a particular emphasis on employment law disputes.
